      Dr. Salih KESGIN was born in 1981 and graduated from the Samsun İmam Hatip High School in 1999. After completing Undergraduate Studies in the Faculty of Theology at Ondokuz Mayıs University in 2003 he finished a degree in Public Administration in the Faculty of Economics from Anadolu University.

He received his Master’s degree from the Institute of Social Sciences at the Ondokuz Mayıs University with a thesis titled ‘The Exile of Various Groups with different Beliefs from the Arabian Peninsula in the light of relevant Hadiths’ in 2005.

His second Master’s degree was gained in the Faculty of Law at the University of London with a thesis titled, ‘Text, Interpretation and Law’ in 2009.

Dr. Salih KESGİN completed his Phd on ‘The Problem of Understanding during the  Deterimination and  Evaluation of Hadiths’ in the Institute of Social Sciences at Ondokuz Mayıs University in 2012 and is continuing with his second doctorate in the Department of Public Administration at the Institute of Social Sciences at the Istanbul Medeniyet University.

He is a visiting researcher and lecturer at the University of London, the University of Jordon and the Bihaç University of Bosnia and Herzegovina.

Dr Salih KESGİN was appointed as the Secretary General of Samsun University on the 26th of October, 2018 while serving as a faculty member at Ondokuz Mayıs University.
